Lincoln Corsair, charm and economy
The Lincoln Corsair may be the smallest SUV in the Lincoln family, but it has a strong personality. It combines Lincoln's luxury and refinement with the technological advantages of a powerful engine or the well-established benefits of the new Grand Touring plug-in hybrid.
Its sleek styling and driving dynamics are among the best features of a vehicle that connects enthusiasts' desire for luxury with the pursuit of inspired driving. The Corsair benefits from Lincoln's design language that emphasizes a stately profile with defined side body panels, rounded corners, wraparound LED rear lighting and jewel-like headlights, complemented by LED daytime running lights and a family-specific grille.
Sophisticated powertrain
The Lincoln Corsair can build on a solid heritage. That's especially true of the powertrain, which repeats for 2022. That means either a 250-horsepower 2.0-litre or a significantly more responsive 280- horsepower 2.3-litre. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard on all versions.
The big news, however, is the Grand Touring Plug-In Hybrid. It is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor. The combination of the two provides 266-horsepower and up to 45 kilometres of 100% electric driving. All of this is powered by a 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which takes 3.5 hours to recharge at a home charging station.
A continuously variable transmission transmits power to the all-wheel-drive system and maintains a fuel economy rating of 7.1 L/100 km for the Grand Touring version.
The sanctuary of life
The 2022 Lincoln Corsair offers a welcoming cockpit, a sanctuary of calm and sophistication. The interior has an open, airy feel reminiscent of aviation. Like the Aviator, the Corsair features a waterfall dashboard that uses metal and high-quality leather. The whole thing is covered in soft leather and offers many features. Adjustable ambient lighting, 24-way power seats and a head-up display create a smooth atmosphere.
One of the best features of the vehicle is the Revel audio system with 14 speakers that literally transform the cabin into a concert hall. Controlled from a large touch screen in the dashboard's center or by redundant steering wheel controls, the system, and other comfort controls, allow occupants to enjoy a relaxing and quiet environment.
Other standards and optional features of the 2022 Lincoln Corsair include 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, hands-free power liftgate, fog lights, an in-dash navigation system, SiriusXM satellite radio, a power steering column, real wood interior trim and heated front seats.
Safety on the menu
The Corsair is also a place where occupants can feel safe. The small luxury SUV offers a list of safety features to enhance the driving experience and driver peace of mind. Of the number, the Lincoln Way app allows you to communicate with your vehicle and start it remotely or lock the doors.
The Co-Pilot 360 technology suite with five route guidance features is standard on all Corsairs. These features include blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane tracking, rearview camera and headlights with automatic high beams.
Other features include rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, lane centering and speed sign recognition, a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors. The 2022 Lincoln Corsair is more than just a luxury SUV; it's a trustworthy companion on the road!
