The Lincoln Corsair may be the smallest SUV in the Lincoln family, but it has a strong personality. It combines Lincoln's luxury and refinement with the technological advantages of a powerful engine or the well-established benefits of the new Grand Touring plug-in hybrid.

That means either a 250-horsepower 2.0-litre or a significantly more responsive 280- horsepower 2.3-litre. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard on all versions.

The big news, however, is the Grand Touring Plug-In Hybrid. It is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor. The combination of the two provides 266-horsepower and up to 45 kilometres of 100% electric driving. All of this is powered by a 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which takes 3.5 hours to recharge at a home charging station.

A continuously variable transmission transmits power to the all-wheel-drive system and maintains a fuel economy rating of 7.1 L/100 km for the Grand Touring version.

The sanctuary of life

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair offers a welcoming cockpit, a sanctuary of calm and sophistication. The interior has an open, airy feel reminiscent of aviation. Like the Aviator, the Corsair features a waterfall dashboard that uses metal and high-quality leather. The whole thing is covered in soft leather and offers many features. Adjustable ambient lighting, 24-way power seats and a head-up display create a smooth atmosphere.

One of the best features of the vehicle is the Revel audio system with 14 speakers that literally transform the cabin into a concert hall. The Co-Pilot 360 technology suite with five route guidance features is standard on all Corsairs. These features include blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane tracking, rearview camera and headlights with automatic high beams.
